PTL

St. Paul’s Lutheran Parent Teacher League has been around since the 1970s. This group was created within Lutheran schools as a group of parents and teachers who help support each other and our students both inside and outside of the classroom. Every parent and teacher is invited to be active in this group and help with the various social events the PTL hosts every year as listed here:

Back to School Family Fun Night: This event is hosted by PTL at our school in September as a free and fun event for the entire family. The event is open to the public and includes many indoor and outdoor activities and games set up carnival-style for all ages. It is definitely a crowd pleaser!

Mother-Son Event: This fall event is for all moms and sons to spend some time together (honorary mothers are welcome, too!). Last year was a camp-out event held under the stars with a movie, popcorn, s’mores, and hot dogs. Each year brings new possibilities for this event.

Trunk-or-Treat: The end of October will be fun-filled with our traditional Trunk-or-Treat, complete with costumes, candy, games, and much, much more! This event is open to the public and fun for the whole family!

Cosmic Bowling: Join other families from St. Paul’s with fun in the dark and throw that bowling ball for a STRIKE! This event is held on a Saturday afternoon in January in conjunction with Lutheran Schools Week.

Daddy Daughter Dance: This is a long tradition dancing the night away for daughters and dads (honorary dads also welcome!) in February. The decorations, food, and DJ are smashing! It’s a night they won’t want to miss.

Spring Annual Auction and Pork Chop Dinner: In March, PTL hosts our Spring Auction and Pork Chop Dinner. This is our main fundraiser of the year, and proceeds go toward teachers for teaching supplies, along with other various needs that vary year to year. Our auction is online and families love to be involved in the bidding and winning. This is a huge team event and almost everyone is involved in the fun.  In 2021, we served over 800 meals, donated 100 meals to local groups in need, and set a new record for proceeds raised. Along with helping buy classroom supplies, proceeds in 2021 went toward 12 new cafeteria tables and rubber mulch for the preschool playground. In 2022, we did even better and served over 900 meals, donated 175 meals to local veterans, Harbor House, and first responders. Proceeds went toward new teaching supplies and rubber mulch for the large playground.  For 2023, our goal is to raise $30,000 for ten new classroom SMARTboards.

Teacher Appreciation Week: Each May, teachers in America are honored with this week of appreciation. St. Paul’s is no different — we love our staff and teachers!! During this week, they are showered with food by PTL, along with many special gifts from their students and parents.

PTL Picnic:  The last full day of school is a very fun tradition at St. Paul’s with lots of games and a picnic outside! Teachers and their students move station to station playing games for the last day of the year, and make great memories to last the summer.

EACH EVENT DATE CHANGES YEAR TO YEAR, PLEASE SEE SCHOOL CALENDAR FOR EXACT DATES.

PTL Mission Statement: “Make families feel like family while supporting our teachers and students.”
